Police say they have arrested the person responsible for an armed robbery that took place at a Milton-Freewater convenience store last week. Officials say the First Stop Mart, located at 85713 Oregon Highway 11, was robbed at gunpoint around 11:30pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
In a press release, Umatilla County Undersheriff Jim Littlefield said that detectives followed investigative leads and worked closely with the Walla Walla Police Department to develop information and evidence that lead to yesterday’s arrest. Denis A. Krivosheenko, age 27, from Walla Walla was arrested in a joint operation with the Walla Walla County SWAT Team at his residence in the 800 block of Pleasant Street in Walla Walla. Krivosheenko has been charged with robbery in the first degree. He also faces other local charges in Walla Walla County, unrelated to the armed robbery. He is currently lodged in the Walla Walla County Jail, pending extradition to Umatilla County.
Umatilla County Sheriff’s detectives interviewed Krivosheenko on Tuesday. They say he admitted to committing the armed robbery at the First Stop Mart. They say Krivosheenko will likely face additional charges related to the armed robbery. He is also a suspect in other criminal cases involving forgery and theft, both in Oregon and Washington.
