John Shafer deserves your vote, again

John Shafer
John Shafer is running for Umatilla County Commissioner

John Shafer won the primary race for Umatilla County Commissioner, Position 2, in May.  Shafer has served as the Mayor of Athena, Oregon and lead the East Umatilla County Health District.  He works for the Umatilla County Emergency Dispatch Center, a division of the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office.

His campaign commitment included working with local leaders to find solutions to the mental health and substance abuse challenges in Umatilla County. Shafer also is sensitive to challenges faced by smaller communities outside of the Pendleton and Hermiston metros and will take that perspective to work for communities like Weston, Athena, Milton-Freewater, Umpaine and beyond.

Voters made the right choice when they voted for Shafer in May and we encourage them to do so again in November. To be elected, voters must mark Shafer’s name on their November ballot for Position Two.  John Shafer is the change we need and the leadership we can be proud of in Pendleton.

We’re proud to endorse John Shafer for Umatilla County Commissioner!
